общее название группы кислых мукополисахаридов (см. гликозаминогликаны) животного происхождения (см. гликозаминогликаны), состоящих из остатков N-ацетил-D-глюкозамина и D-глюкуроновой кислоты. Благодаря присутствию β(1→3)-cвязей молекулы Г.к., насчитывающие несколько тысяч моносахаридных остатков, принимают конформацию спирали, на один виток которой приходится три дисахаридных блока. Локализованные на внешней стороне спирали гидрофильные карбоксильные группы остатков Г.к. могут связывать ионы Ca 2+. За счет сильной гидратация этих групп Г.к., как и другие гликозаминогликаны, при образовании гелей связывают 10000-кратный объем воды. Г.к. — составная часть внеклеточного основного вещества соединительной ткани, стекловидного тела и синовиальной жидкости. Г.к. получают из животного сырья (петушиных гребешков, глазного стекловидного тела крупного рогатого скота) и синтезируют биотехнологическими методами. Г.к. являются природными гелеобразователями, важными структурными элементами кожи (способствуют поддержанию нормального водного баланса в клетках), обладают регенерирующей, противовирусной, бактерицидной и ранозаживляющей активностями. Благодаря отсутствию видоспецифичности Г.к. свойственна биосовместимость с тканями и средами человеческого организма; используются в медицине (для лечения глаукомы и воспалений суставов) и косметологии. Г.к. были обнаружены в стекловидном теле глаза в 1934 г. К. Мейером и Дж. Пальмером; они же и ввели термин "Г.к.".Толковый биотехнологический словарь. Русско-английский. > гиалуроновые кислоты
